How we use it at tds.
The SOLO is our main dripper: around 80% of the filter coffees we brew at our bar in Ghent are made on a SOLO. We use the V1 as well as the larger V2, which comes in the SOLO SPIN set. It is a very consistent and forgiving brewer, and together with our water and grinder it gives us a clean cup that keeps all the complexity of the coffee. We only sell gear we use ourselves and believe in, and the SOLO is the clearest example of that. For some recipes we switch to the SOLO SPIN.
At the heart of the SOLO is its carefully designed 40° wall angle and large central opening. Water moves efficiently through the coffee bed, while the curved base helps distribute the flow and reduce uneven extraction. The result is a clean, balanced cup with plenty of room to fine-tune your brew through grind size and pouring technique.
Want more control over contact time? The Mazelab SOLO SPIN dripper set combines the larger SOLO Tritan dripper with an adjustable valve base, so you can brew immersion and pour-over in one brewer.
